Dynamic Interactive Art by Maxximillian Pepavaggio

You Are Fren blends the absurd with the creepy, offering a thrilling, self-aware satire of a world where making the wrong move could leave you running for your life. Or worse—trusting the wrong fren.

This collection goes beyond traditional art, inviting you into an immersive experience where each piece responds to your actions. Controlled by mouse gestures, guided by oracles, and unlocked through secret words and phrases, You Are Fren transforms every viewer into an active participant, shaping the artwork in real-time. These dynamic pieces come to life on the Transient Labs platform, where the integration of oracles and responsive elements allows the artwork to evolve based on your choices. Each interaction brings new layers to the story, offering a satirical glimpse into a crumbling world on the edge of zombie mayhem. With every gesture, you decide who’s a true fren—and who might turn on you. You Are Fren isn’t just an art series; it’s an adventure in discovery, where dark humor and suspense are woven into an evolving cryptoart narrative that puts you at the heart of the story.

In You Are Fren, Maxximillian redefines interactive art, placing the viewer at the heart of a choice-driven, darkly humorous narrative of survival. Built on the innovative Transient Labs Dynamic Art Engine (DAE), this piece invites audiences to explore an evolving digital landscape where each interaction transforms the artwork in real-time. This experience reflects the dynamic direction of contemporary art, where immersive, adaptive works redefine engagement, offering art enthusiasts the thrill of evolving narratives and heightened immersion.

You Are Fren (2024) is a dynamic interactive work of art by Maxximillian Pepavaggio. Acquired in October by iconic artist Big Comic Art.

Introducing We Are Here, Fren - the second work of art in You Are Fren an escape fantasy art adventure mashup of dark humor, memes, satire and suspense collaged together into an evolving cryptoart narrative that puts you at the heart of the story. We Are Here, Fren.

You should be miles away by now, but your desire for bizarre roadside snacks that you can only find in remote roadside places is influencing your decisions. You’ve seen the zombie fallout happen in movies, so you feel somewhat prepared since you’ve seen this all before—only, unlike people in movies, who seem never to know anything about monsters, you’ve watched horror films, and you remember how this goes: you just need to be stealthy, and agile and get out of town, as quickly as possible, picking up supplies at safe places, joining forces with allies along the way.

About Gerald

Gerald, the nightshift cashier looks like he’s been through too much for one lifetime.

As soon as you walk in, his eyes hold you. They’re wide, heavy with some dark knowledge that even you know you don't want to know. Gerald hasn’t said a word, but his look: that blank—I’m-about-to-witness-some-weird-shit—look tells you everything. He’s been here before, watching, waiting for something that he knows damn well is coming. And it’s **dank**. You can feel it too, crawling up your spine.

The air in here is thick. Like walking through a swamp made of sweat and static. It’s heavy. It clings to your skin like the inside of a wet tent, that dense, smothering charge in the air you get before lightning splits the sky open. In the silence, you perceive a kind of hum you hear in your bones, not your ears. As you move through the aisles, you sense a kind of presence that makes your hair stand up and reminds you that you’re not alone here. Something's watching, lurking beyond the flicker of the fluorescent lights, not hiding just unseen. Not making itself known, not yet, but there. Always there.

Now here you stand scanning the impulse-buy counter for bizarre snacks, perhaps leering at the requisite jar of pickled what's-its floating in flavor juice, today's is labeled “Zombie Power Shots”. You are just wondering if it's a good idea to give zombies extra shots of power when a shiver comes over you.

Those little rehydratable pet aliens with their flashing eyes—usually tiny lifeless bulbs—are now pulsing in sync with that invisible hum that’s moving through the room like a slow motion tidal wave of electric current.

You'd better fill up your basket, pay for your supplies and get back on the road as quickly as possible!

Fren, are you dank enough?
